- No memes, trolling, misinformation, or low-effort posts/comments (including reposts). If you see posts like this that anger you, do not engage. Report, block, and live a happier life than they do. Any slap-fight is subject to comment removals. Fights full of rule violations will result in temporary bans to cool off.
- No manipulating votes via bots or alt accounts; this will result in permanent bans. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in an account ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be permanently banned.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules and use critical thinking when reading, posting, and commenting. Users that repeatedly have comments or posts removed, weaponize reports, or violate the code of conduct, will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Probably one of the best examples of the horseshoe theory in action. I have had people I know go from the Goop/Gaiam kind of thing where they are into crystals eating organic foods and not vaccinating their kids and voting for/talking about the Green Party while in their twenties and thirties, but mostly hold liberal-ish values, even if they vote infrequently. Then time passes, Donvict comes down that escalator and they are talking about this dipshit nonstop with stars in their eyes: about how he's going to get us out of endless wars vs. Hillary who is going to "start WWIII" and other such Russian-style agitprop. I don't know if a worm got into their brains, too, or if it's aging or hormones gone wild or they just were always really bad at critical thought.
There were always the ultra-religious OG whackjobs even before the recent-ish antivaxx stuff started in the 90s with the Goop demographic...you had xtian zealots and the likes of the Amish. Resistance to vaccines in the early days often came from obviously terrible people with stunted morality proclaiming it was going against the will of (their) god.
And then there are just all the contrarian type of assholes that feel they are really thinking for themselves when they hear experts say something and they just say, "nuh-uh! yOu cAn'T mAkE mE!"
