This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.

Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)

This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

Gallery, comments & pics number appear on mobile device but not on PC for a specific generator (perchance.org)

Hello everyone, I am posting this because of an issue that I have spent a lot of time trying to resolve myself, to no avail...

The problem is quite simple: on mobile, on this generator, I can see the tabs “gallery & comments” and “number pics (3, 6, 9)”, but when I go to the same URL on PC, the gallery/comment section and number pics do not appear at all. I asked for help on Discord and was simply told that my browser was “not old enough” (-_-).

What's even stranger (in my opinion) is that when I tried to modify the generator code myself by deleting the “image number” line of code, the category immediately appeared on my screen! (Even though I had tried everything before with F12, the dev tab, etc., trying to bypass the red flag, and nothing worked!)

However, if I try to do the same thing in gen code for the gallery line (which are set to =true by default, even if it doesn't work), the gallery still doesn't display...

Is it intentional on the part of the generator's creator that these categories are so filtered and inaccessible on PCs? Or is it a bug caused by poor maintenance of the generator? Because as I recall, a year ago, it worked without any problems!

(Needless to say, I've already tried absolutely everything as a solution, such as VPNs, other browsers, Tampermonkey scripts, etc., but nothing has worked... At least I tried to figure it out on my own^^')

there's a function that assign ONLY after gen button click > some times, certain function will show up. so the solution is just to spam click "generate"

Oh my god, thank you!! I saw this “click 5 times” function in the generator code, I WAS SURE it was related, but like an idiot, I clicked everywhere except the generate button T^T Exhaust I guess
