That's one of those general election issues where they only pull out of storage just before the general election. Like gay rights, abortion, wages. And fold them up neatly and stow them away until the next general election.

What do you expect right now? GOP has control of the house of representatives, the Senate, and the presidency. Vote.
Btw gay rights, trans rights, abortion, etc. - no one cared. Bill Clinton was right: It's the economy stupid. The next election will be only about the economy. Everything else is gone because voters never show up for it. Any progress you ever want in the future including green energy, gone for at least 16 years. No one showed up for it. It'll only be about the economy.
Voters don't show up when you promise them fuckall or even worse; republican policy and messaging.
Do you think more voters showed up when Kamala started talking about tax breaks for small businesses, having cops talking at the DNC, and started yelling about the "tHe mOsT lEtHaL miLiTaRy eVar!!"? Half the people I talked to phone banking in 2020 thought Biden supported all the things people were literally rioting in support of because the republicans were against it.
Vote for what? The same party that does not want Medicare for all or any form of universal health care? Voters may want Medicare for all or universal health care, but the party does not. The answer to the exact same people that Republicans answer to. And do everything in their power to protect profit.
If it were about the economy voters would have demanded a primary to Biden.
