Very cool, in any case, and also begs a question-- how "gauche" by LEGO standards would it be to (ala minifigure painting), add some painted weathering effects to the tannish building tiles?
It's quite possible. I wont be able to try that until next year. Currently the build is on display at The Henry Ford Museum. https://imgur.com/a/oUOQ5ss you'll see it in this video, next to my botanical garden and spider mech.

Daggit, and that museum looks quite boss. Can't say I'm a fan of its namesake, but that's the way these things go, sometimes. Hope I might possibly visit, one day...
