why is there no repeater for every frequency slot? (lemmings.world)

I had to do a lot bit of research on RF radio repeaters just to get an answer as to why there isn't a analog radio repeater that repeats in real time and one of it was that it would effectively increase the transmitted power above the legal limit and there would be "packet bumping". it explains the the meshtastic protocol has to be digital.

but im wondering why there isnt a setting that listens and retransmits on multiple frequency slots or one frequency slot and all modem setting. either of those setting would make using meshtastic easier to adopt.

Thats how you turn a nice radio hobby into a congested, unusable mess.

Packet radio suffered that fate in the early 90s.
