Yeah, because they all got crushed after their democratically elected leaders got removed and often killed or imprisoned during the entire Cold War. Also leftists are starting to win elections again quite regularly in South America, so I’m starting to think you just don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.
The flaw being that when a small country starts trying to determine their own self governance that a far larger and more powerful country can crush it? Also, that argument falls down when you look at places like China and Cuba and DPRK and Venezuela still persist, and even demsoc countries like Norway are still flourishing.
Also no, saying “these countries are winning elections but leftists don’t win elections” is not the genius argument you think it is. I don’t even understand how you think that could be an argument.
No, they aren’t, because what they do is not in any way the definition of fascism. These words mean things, and if you can’t even understand the established definition of the very thing we are talking about then you’re not worth having a conversation with.
I’m sorry but this annoys the shit out of me when people in white imperialist countries say this shit. Leftists have won elections in so many countries but the Americanized idea that you can’t be left of liberal if you want to win elections in a moronic party system that has only been imposed and perpetuated by THIS EXACT LINE OF THINKING is frustrating as fuck for those of us who don’t live there.
Not true historically, just recently in the US. But it’s also hard for a leftist to vote left when there’s literally no leftist party. One might say, by definition, impossible.

Winning elections by itself doesn’t defeat fascism. Most of the countries that won by elections during the Cold War had their leaders deposed and had fascists installed because they were helpful to US interests. That is the entire point of this post. Just voting doesnt do fuck all to stop fascism.
Right, so after voting doesn’t work, and a fascist state is installed, you just allow fascism to take hold until the next time you get to vote? If you do?
Also I can’t think of a single time that fascism has won a legitimate democratic election. But feel free to enlighten me and I’ll get back to you about it tomorrow. Maybe I’m wrong.

Do they win elections though? When they do nothing with that win other than shift further to the right and lock in right wing policy with their ratchet effect, it's not a win but a capitulation
