I'm that uncle. My uncle went far right and started corrupting the rest of the family. People I respected started talking about how we needed Trumps wall (from his first run), talking about those e-mail servers, talking about those "libtards", everything. Oh, and the absolute worst would be universal healthcare!!!! My mom once joked, during COVID, about how she should drive up to the protestors during the George Floyd event... and how she should just cough on them (she wasn't sick... she just thought it be funny). She proudly told me that, meanwhile I had a friend reach out asking me NOT to go to the protests because she worried about me. One of them knew me way better and spoiler it wasn't my mom.

I lost so much respect for so many parts of my family. These were people who raised me to to not believe everything you read or see on TV, to pursue education, etc. All of a sudden believed anything that was on Facebook.
