Nah, the timing is too perfect for a personal vendetta. Trump used this event to justify his national guard occupation of DC after courts told him he didn't present evidence of a crime problem needed to justify a state of emergency.

The Afghani in question has a history of working for the CIA and was brought in by the Trump admin in April this year.
