Something like that isn't made to have accurate aim beyond "forward somewhere", nor is it made with reusing shells in mind.

if the projectile(s) you're firing don't go where you want them to go then they're wasted

whether it's a single slug or multiple pellets

only if you're firing from point blank range, but maybe not even then.

There's only so many pellets in a 12 gauge, with bird shot there's a lot, but birdshot doesn't do much damage, with buckshot you can only fit about 10 or so pellets into 12 gauge, but then there's the variable of how long the shell is and how big the wad is

if you want a shotgun to totally annihilate the thing in front of you like it happens in a video game, that's just not how it works.

you'll be able to put a big hole in one enemy, that's it. And that's if you've got a certain length of barrel and you're close enough
