This comparison isn’t exactly 100% accurate, but I think of it like
“I want peace on Earth”
“I don’t want to put in the work to get that” or “I don’t want all life to go extinct”
One is a means, the other is a goal.
But yeah I’m the same way, my therapists have always understood the distinction though lol
I would argue that being suicidal has different levels. The lowest is having thoughts about ending one's life in the abstract and a higher stage would be concrete plans and maybe even preparing but that's a gradual difference. The meme by this logic shows the lowest point on a gradual scale
