UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Goddamn, UK. What the fuck happened to you? Only one of us is allowed to be a fascist hellhole at any one time.
We offshored our manufacturing base except for a few high tech military areas, so now we’re highly reliant on supplying all sides in the Middle East, as you can’t actually build an economy entirely around services.
This is somewhat of a myth. The UK is currently in the top 10 manufacturing nations, and it’s worth £500bn
The biggest sector is engineering (half of all Ford diesel engines, Mini, JLR, Toyota, Nissan, Aston-Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Rolls-Royce, JCB, Siemens, Hitachi, BAE, Airbus, various defence companies). The only F1 team without UK engineering is Ferrari.
Pharma includes GSK and AstraZeneca, ships at Harland & Wolff and Cammell-Laird, high-end tech such as Sony film & broadcast equipment. Of course Henry.
A nation's engineering sector mostly built on military doesn't inspire much confidence in me.
I thought you did all the banki- ohhhh. Right. Yeah.
That sucks, yeah.
Sadly, the Fascists are going global :(
The billionaires are playing the same propaganda everywhere :/
We were hoping they’d come to our rescue if it comes to that, but now it looks more like they’re gonna play Japan in WW3.
Honestly, I wasn't. Maybe France again, or Germany if they can keep it together. Not the UK though. They really haven't been doing any better than us. They just didn't have the loud orange man in charge.
Yeah really brexit and Boris we’re the clear signs, but I was hoping things would improve with their last elections.
They seem to be speed running things, since we haven't had this issue in the US yet. We can openly and publicly oppose what Israel is doing.
You can oppose Israel in the UK still, you just can't be associated with the specific group "Palestine Action"
For now. Til you get caught and declared terrorists.
