What always confused me was the breadth of the collection. I could see kids wanting a couple dinos from jurassic world/park but they have 7 variations of ian malcolm and 3 owen grady and 3 alan grants. There are over 70 skus, with only about 30 unique characters.
The stores stock randomly, my local comic book store has a 2 20ft long tables stacked 3 ft high. Random funkos. They've been there for years, it's just largely stuff that noone wants anymore, it's just there as a massive display, they get a little stock in now and then and pepper them into the pile.
