It sounds like a bunch of Democrats want to cave in exchange for no concessions whatsoever. Edit: Bloomberg has more details

Current likely Democratic votes for this:

  • Shaheen - NH
  • Hassan - NH
  • King - ME
  • Fetterman - PA
  • Peters - MI
  • Durbin - IL
  • Warner - VA
  • Kaine - VA
  • Ossoff- GA
  • Warnock - GA

If you want to change things, you need to call their DC office NOW, and leave an email if you can't.

Edit 2: enough Democrats joined the Republicans to reopen the government with no real concessions.

The list:

  • Durbin
  • Hassan
  • King
  • Cortez Masto
  • Kaine
  • Shaheen
  • Rosen
  • Fetterman
  • Schumer
  • Gillibrand

There was a caucus meeting right before this, so the bulk of the Senate Democrats were likely OK with giving in, even if not willing to vote for it in public

Dissenters against what?

The dems caved and made all this shutdown for nothing. Who's side should we take? Healthcare premiums are going up into the stratosphere, I am already being told they will go up an additional $1000 a month for me and those I cover. I COUNTED on Dem leadership to hold the line and force Republicans to allow ACA to remain untouched, now dems own the shuttdown and republicans are laughing all the way to the bank as they get to now spend those tax credits on... whatever the FUCK they are doing with all this money they're taking from us.

This isn't about sides anymore, people are going to die. They are throwing people to their death.

edit: I sometimes think there are just bots here who say things to learn how humans reply.

Premiums affected refers to those using the public market state options via Obama care. Aka direct purchase plans, which is 10.2% of Americans w/health insurance.

[–] ameancow@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes, that's over 34 million Americans.

[–] Nomorereddit@lemmy.today -3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Not quite. Only about 307million Americans have health care, so its 10.2% of the 91% who have Healthcare. So 3 mill less than your number.
