The American public at large who has problems with fascists has been brainwashed into thinking violence is not the answer for decades. The only people in the US who hate fascists and think violence SHOULD be used against them are a very small minority, who ALSO do not want to start shooting first because winning the narrative is just as important as the rebellious act itself. Basically, until the current administration does villainy on the level of the Wounded Knee Massacre, no one will shoot at them. Until that happens, most people are rebelling in ways that are mostly disruptive. Don't get me wrong tho, that IS still a valid form of rebellion.

Violence is not the answer in a democracy. Unless, you know, fascists capture the state.

When fascists capture the state it isn't a democracy anymore so the first sentence still stands.

I'm very exited to see Freedom house's next country report of the US.

You're forgetting that the only reason those were successful was because of the threat of violent resistance behind it.
