Noooooob here: As title said - I don't know what distro I should choose. My needs are student stuff like Libreoffice & Videoconferences but also creative things, photo-management and cutting videos. Does it matter at all? Do I have to check for every single program I use or is there a distro that is recommended?

I was planning on getting a Tuxedo with Tuxedo OS, but my neighbour recommended another "no os"-seller and now I'm not sure. I was opting for Tuxedo mainly because of the support since I'm leaving windows after many years^^

(Picture shows the lilac and blueish ports that we had for mouse and keyboard back "in my days" with the words "How old are you" - "Me:" on top - just because this community semmingly requires a picture added)

You can set up almost any distribution for the purposes of doing exactly as you described. For myself, I have CachyOS set up, but that's for things on a YouTube channel I narrate for.

There are a couple of apps I will recommend for this sort of deal, especially since I've used them on the daily for a few years.

  • Kdenlive, a non-destructive, non-linear video editor using the MLT framework. I use 24.12.2, since other versions in the AppImage format don't work for me personally.
  • You can take a look at one of these tools on AlternativeTo, and pick the one you like. I just did digiKam alternatives, but as another commenter said, digiKam might be something to consider.

You talked about LibreOffice, which my producer and I used as well, so that's a good call. For video conferencing, maybe take a look at Zoom alternatives with these parameters, and see what you like.
