Back then boomers could buy houses, cars and enjoy holidays while raising 3-4 kids and only with 1 paycheck, we can't do that today with 2 paychecks and working on the side.

Fun Fact, this lifestyle was what the minimum wage was intended to provide when it was enacted. FDR talked about this. If somebody was working a full time job, then they should be able to have that standard of living. No matter what kind of job they were doing.

One of many reasons the man had such a generational run that they amended the fucking constitution to keep it from happening again and have spent the better part of 40 goddamn years tearing it all down.

In 1935 the UK and the world were just creeping out from the Great Depression and many governments were building large welfare programs for the first time. This was 10 years before Boomers even started to be born
