Zohran is going to walk it and the cope from these fascist fucks will be delicious
I have a dangerous feeling: hope
Is it possible that 'Murica is capable of maturing a tiny bit and making a choice that will actually benefit society rather than a few rich white men?
Yeah, I feel you
Me too, but it's only hope for NYC, which doesn't really help much of the rest of the country as much. Maybe he'll keep Trump busy, but he'll probably just use it as another distraction while hurting everyone.
It is hopeful if it signals a trend though, we need it to.
That's why hope is so dangerous
The civilised world sneers at 'Murica for good reason
We keep seeing them deliberately choose cruelty
Both parties are going to fight him on everything, so he's going to have to rally the people behind him. Fortunately, he seems to be pretty good at that.
The problem with America is people wake up then immediately go back to sleep.
Maybe voting EVERY DAMN TIME will catch on at some point.
Compulsory voting is one of the best things about my country
And studies show that not only does it increase participation obviously but that people actually do take the time to research and vote for candidates with views that align with theirs.
Yep
The only people opposed to it are those who stand to gain without it and the stupid
It's entirely possible. If we consider that much of what the GOP has accomplished has been through propaganda, it suggests that things wouldn't have gone their way if they played this game honestly. Personally, I see the last 30 years of federal politics as a wild pendulum swing, between battling ideologies in multiple directions, only becoming more energetic. I'm hopeful that this will eventually break down the brittle, false, manufactured narratives out there because it will take ever more effort to keep all that going. I have hope too.
I'd love to see him win by a massive amount, like 2/3 majority. That way nobody can argue he doesn't have any support.
50.4% to 41.6%; I’d say that’s pretty good.
