Really good friend and I used to play the mp 1v1 for hours and hours. The slide tackles and jump kicks were ridiculously op. Eventually we got a backup version running for lan parties. After about half an hour of absolutely wrecking shop, the rest of our crew decided the only way to make it fair was to go 2v10.
That didn’t help them at all. We still dominated even when we switched to melee only. It was wild the range you could connect those moves at and it was always a 1 shot even against full armor.
Such a fun game from a truly classic era of pc gaming.
As an aside, Trepang ² is a wonderful spiritual successor.
