What do you even mean with "aren't real"?

Turing devised the Turing test as a way of ever confirming whether or not an AI is "alive": if it can fool humans into thinking it's another human and not a machine, then it passes.

The recent advances in llms show quite clearly that it turns out you can fool humans into thinking you're also a human quite easily, thus he would probably revise his test.

People fell for ELIZA, turns out humans are the ones that fail the turing test.

Today's "artificial intelligence" has no real intelligence. No more than your phone's autocorrect. At best, it is simulated intelligence. We should call it "fake intelligence."

Pseudo Intelligent Sapience Simulacra, or PISS for short

They are still real, though.

Unless Leon is right, what again, makes way more sense than what I see around.

The meme doesn't say they aren't real; it says they aren't real AI.

Lol. I must have read it a dozen times, and I missed that part every single one.

LLMs donโ€™t exist. They were just a fever dream.

[โ€“] marcos@lemmy.world 12 points 10 months ago

Oh, that makes more sense than how I see people reacting to them!

I know this because an LLM told me.
