UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Nice to see that my UK friends have an option. I hope you all vote for change.
Here in the US our two ruling parties collude to keep third parties off the ballot.
The new far far right party is winning opinion polls by a mile. The 2 main parties are rushing to the right to try to compete. The other left party (Lib Dems) have long been recovering from supporting the Conservative party. Greens are the only reasonable option remaining for a lot of people who don't want to support the right.
This isn't good news. The situation is dire and this country's majority supports the far right. But yeah, at least it isn't a 2 party "love it or shove it" type of situation.
That's a shame. We've come a long way from the Battle of Cable Street.
I agree with most of your points, but I wanted to point out that reform is not the majority of voters, only the largest block. In previous elections the majority of votes were cast for left leaning candidates, but First Past the Post meant they were under represented on Parliament.
