I would also simply patch it with whatever sturdy thing you can find. You could try to thrift something of a similar colour, I personnally like to get my patches from old jeans, but I also don't care what my clothes look like on the inside. Patch it much bigger thant the hole though, I can see that te fabric to the left is also damaged, you want to cover everything that feels a bit flimsier than normal.
For the pocket issue I don't see any good solutions. Maybe you could try sewing part of the pocket to smthg so it sits a bit higher? (not the lining, but if you can access the seam alowance along the zipper maybe ?
