I actually have an "any" key on my keyboard. I replaced the scroll lock keycap with it becsuse who the hell ever actually uses scroll lock? I'm not even sure it does anything on a modern system. It certainly doesn't lock a scrollable window from scrolling in Windows.
I used it 2-3 times in Unix-like OS. It usually works in virtual terminals (tty). I guess Sys Admins still use it pretty often to configure old servers with real (not virtual) terminals.
