It all comes down to money. Frankly they wouldn’t care if you jacked off all the time if they were making enough money. The problem comes down to most of these companies have massive commercial real estate investments that cost them more than the monetary gains they’re getting from a more productive staff, so they’re focusing on that. You’ll notice that the companies that are successfully doing remote have sold off their buildings or don’t have any leases anymore.
There’s also a matter of soft layoffs but that’s something else.
