What's the point of a private ballroom like this? Is he really going to host enough balls and parties to make this worth the space? Normally a ballroom is like rented out and has events going for it and is a community space. This seems just like something stupid for him to have with no purpose.
You literally just nailed it on the head.
To Trump and the elite, a gala at the White House would be something worth paying for. It will get rented out. To billionaires, foreign heads of state. Beauty pageant celebrations.
Everything this regime does is to enrich himself. Every authoritarian does that.
The only way this makes sense is if he's planning on never leaving.
