The amount of art that was inspired by the likes of Hokusai is surprisingly astounding. Van Gogh was a huge fan of his work.
This is one I had no idea about but I absolutely love it.
Yes! Monet too. Japanese art had quite an influence in Europe in the era
I have a book somewhere I got from a Hokusai exhibition that came to a nearby art museum, it is all about the "classical masters" and how they were influenced by Ukiyo-e style masters. I'll have to read it again and see if it mentions Monet.
