Hello. I decided to make this community, since I didn't see any that related to learning languages. I currently speak English as a native speaker, and I'm working on A1 German. I made this simple web app to help me practice vocabulary. I find most flashcard apps to lack repetition on weaker words, so I made one that naturally focuses on the words you struggle the most with.

Trying to find things on Lemmy is rough for sure. I've tried to check before posting things before, only to then realize I was posting a duplicate.

And while I do appreciate the initiative of making a new community, don't want to shoot that down... I would like to say the sopuli comm is really nice. I haven't heard anyone complain about that particular instance. And there's at least a few users active every week in the weekly threads.

I've seen so many communities start on Lemmy, and wind up with one person posting the vast majority of the content. Would be great if all that energy were put into building on existing communities.

That's fair. Though it seems like the existing communities are struggling, with mostly the owner posting weekly. And the one on Lemmy.World is dead, with the last post being 6 months ago. I'm going to keep this one going, it seems to be a bit more visible than the others.
