That's just repeating MAGA propaganda...

We can't assume when Kegsworth said:

We're giving them a military base

He meant

Temporary accomodations on an existing US base

Stop fucking defending fascists, just because you don't believe they'd really do, what they repeatedly told us they will do

If you want to go stick your head in sand, literally no one is stopping you.

But stop throwing sand in our faces and telling us it's preferable.

We're letting them build accommodations on an existing base and setup training routines. Didn't research this, not a single article, jkust went full-on: "fAscIsM!!!"?

Yeah, bribing Trump with a shitty plane greased the wheels, but this is normal. We train allied naval pilots from all over the planet in Pensacola. I worked on base, saw troops from all over the globe. Perhaps Qatari is not our ally?

Major Non-NATO Ally (MNNA) status: In March 2022, President Joe Biden officially designated Qatar as an MNNA.

OP presents a fact. Lemmy, confronted with a fact they don't like: FUCK YOU! So, your world view is as informed as a conservative, just the opposite?

My most influential teacher was our science teacher from 1st-6th grade. Every year she would start with defining the difference between fact and opinion, how to discern the difference. You would have failed that class, as an adult.

And if you have any doubts where my politics lay, my history is free to read. Here's some advice from just yesterday, talking about how to legally shoot the fuckers. Fuck me, can't believe I'm not banned from the entire site for talking about armed violence against fascists.

ICE won't really do what they say they, relax guy

Wild how many times people give fascists the benefit of the doubt...

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fuck does this have to do with ICE? Did you reply to the wrong post?

Once again, facts are presented, lemmy cannot discern the difference in an opinion.

Nope, but now we know you never got to analogies n school...

youre gonna have to ask someone else to explain things now. You're not understanding any of this and getting belligerent.

This is exactly like talking to a trumpet

He is right though. Qatar is getting access to a part of a US base to train with planes they got from the US. Here is a 1 min YT short explaining the situation: https://youtube.com/shorts/p1bH0Q1LA-c

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is like when project 2025 leaked and everyone said "don't worry, that's just a goof"...

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (2 children)

And the concern is what exactly? Letting allies train on our military base? Spell it out.

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 month ago

An excuse used to commit atrocities before was that it was not illegal because it happend outside their legal jurisdiction.

This situation opens up a ton more wiggle room.

That could be a simple, well we didn’t do the illegal acts, they did and they are under their own nations jurisdiction (as is often the case for military on foreign land)

Or a more complex secret trade of prisoners where detained from Qatar are brought to the US for their soldiers to practice legal torture while Americans are send to Qatar where US troops also commit legal torture.

It does not need to make total sense as long as the question can be spun around “how is this legal” as a distraction for the actual ethical horrors they purposely employ.

Same reason we shouldn't let any other far right religious extremist government have military personal on US soil...

allies

The point is they shouldn't be allies.

America of all places shouldn't have any authoritarian monarchies as allies, you'll probably never guess why...

[–] rhvg@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

America is good at killing people. Teaching other country how to kill is quite American too.

[–] KiloGex@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Dude, I hate Trump and MAGA too ... but please look at the actual info.
