The problem with this is like humans are adapted to eat a moderate amount of garlic. Most earth critters can't eat it. No idea if it would be edible to aliens but the odds would be on "no" because its likely chiral molecules would render key parts of any earth organism inedible or dangerous to eat for an alien life form

So either the aliens learn to appreciate the awesomeness of garlic or we kill those filthy aliens it's a win-win.

Most likely if aliens showed up we'd have a giant wave of extinctions as alien microbes started spreading across earth creating a separate tree of life.
