Teacher here: getting harassed by kids is the worst. You're supposed to not only keep your cool but also be welcoming and integrate every last bully, when they are hellbent on getting an out-of-bounds reaction from you.

And let me tell you, bullies have bully parents. Always. So you can't talk to them either.

You cannot win in a situation like this.

Sorry for the OT, please return to fascist USA now.

And of course keeping them in class is terrible for every other student but you have to keep those metrics up!

Not me personally, more like my employer. For me it's about being the "responsible adult" in the room, but what that really means is some sort of magic where I'm emotionally detached and invested at the same time.

Long term, being the responsible adult means to recognize hat the situation is untenable. For my employers it means, avoid trouble (with parents).

"I appreciate your input but if you keep entertaining alt-tight nonsense ideas you're going to end up just like the guy you're idolizing"

A clever reply. Maybe it shuts them up for a moment (unlikely), but then they go to their parents and say "teacher called me a nazi!" As I said, you cannot win.

Should I kick my sons parents ass? 🤔 My son is black and they go around calling him a monkey. I told him to ask the kid next time he says if his dad taught him that while he was suck8ng him off.
