I just got it. It's an admission that premium Duolingo wasn't worth paying to upgrade, so they're making free Duolingo worth paying to avoid. Except avoiding free duolingo doesn't have to mean paying for it.

What system, designed for teaching, punishes correct answers? A capitalist one.
