Number 12 is especially important to pull folks out of the insanity. Talk about the high price of electricity, groceries and beef. Talk about the weather.
Cultivate common interests. Talk about your hobbies and skills that you have developed recently.
Do not place blame. Stay positive and stay away from politics. They will gradually figure it out.
