I wouldn't go that far because it is often a justified claim. For example, it's accurately used for things like people who display ostentatious Christian symbols, but who obviously don't follow the teachings of their own professed religious inspiration.

It could be called religious extremism or religious hypocrisy or simply hypocrisy those are well defined word unlike term like virtue signaling and the way conservatives use of the term woke
