This is also a strong protection against invasion from aliens. (There was a manga about this but I can't find it anymore.)

True, this is also why Minecraft creepers, which are inspired by aliens, run away from cats.

Also, the aliens don't run away from the cats. They're overwhelmed by the cats' cuteness.
