i think you mean military instead of militant, any violent group is militant. So being militant is still a civilian thing and using the military against civilians is a war crime. Also using the military within your own borders is a crime. So no it's not a "very strong argument" it's not an argument at all

That would make them bad guys. Doing the same thing makes the US bad guys too
