It's worth noting that Russian conspiracy theory disinformation is even older than Communism.
This piece of Russian intelligence propaganda is what radicalized Hitler and turned his soft bigotry of Jews into his fanatical hatred, according to the WWII book "The Last 100 Days". Adolf Hitler totally fell for this and killed millions of people because of it.
