Do you Americans mumble the last 2 lines of your anthem now? Because you're neither of those things anymore.
Frankly, most of us Americans do not realize that the national anthem, when sung in full, is incredibly racist. There are reasons why the singing stops when it does.
But the "No refuge could save the hireling and slave, From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave" gets louder.
