Depends if we have access to a freezer. Freeze the dead, and fast until there is no other choice then cook.

yeah this a big factor. meat is pretty dangrous unless preserved and generally the closer the species to your own the more dangerous (more shared pathogens). Given cannibalism is not something one is likely to jump at the opportuniry for (unless your @lacanoodle@literature.cafe ), then you would need a situation liek those people in the andies where the corpses were frozen (the movie alive).
