Yea they take away part of the ears to pin them back like that so the face looks more friendly instead of a scary piercing glare with ears pointed up and forward.
Dogs also just hold their ears back like that when relaxed. I can't tell from this single image that they are docked and pinned.
I would have just as much assumed it's because she's a pitbull.
That is so sad! I looked it up and it seems common with Doberman breeds. Seeing side by side images of their ears made me sad. I totally get the downvotes now.
Also, thank you for telling me and not insulting me like some on the Internet do.
