On average, working from home doesn't decrease car trips overall. The only solution to traffic is viable alternatives to driving such as transit or cycling.

Edit: y'all can keep downvoting me but here is a study that goes into deeper detail. The only solution to traffic is alternatives to driving cars, this has been proven many times over many metrics and demographics. link to article
