But poor people don’t have the financial capacity to stop doing [harmful thing]
So therefore, I as a privileged upper middle class person, refuse to not do the [harmful thing].

I like calling this sort of “I can still use my monster truck because poor people can’t afford to not buy fast fashion.” broken logic, “solidaritywashing”.
Pretending to be empathetic to marginalised people but using it to perpetuate inequalities.
