I was debating whether or not I should even post this because it looks so sad, but decided that if I get good feedback then it's worth the embarrassment. Any ideas what the heck is wrong with this? I just moved it to the ground, where I have really good soil, so I'm hoping it recovers on its own

I'd put my money on either overwatering or PH issues. I doubt it's lack of nutrients in the soil - the plant just can't access them.
