On the one hand, anything that the American fascists can and will use to polish up their image is shit. (Brace for the world cup in 2026 and the 250th year anniversary of the declaration of independence that same year.)

On the other hand though, it can conceivably have a de-brutalizing effect (although rather over decades) if the popularity of football proper grows in comparison to that of American football.

Still a shit move in this day and age.
