Not that I don't think the judiciary has been weak but, ultimately, there is very little they can do with an executive branch that decides to just ignore them. The judiciary relies almost entirely on the executive to enforce their rulings. The cops report up to the president, not the courts.
The checks on the executive are willful compliance to the judiciary or, barring that, impeachment in Congress. It doesn't seem like we can expect either to function properly.
So judge Merchan gets a pass for just letting Trump walk? I don't know man, seems like a lot of judges let things slide long before he was President again.
