Onlookers gasped loudly as Vance scrambled to retrieve the base of the 35-pound trophy from the floor and put it back together

Vance is a wet fart of a human being and deserves all bad karma coming his way, but I agree with you. The guy pushing it towards him from the top fucked it up. Vance had it by the base, and only dropped it because it broke and he panicked.
