The thing is new magic is flashier but fundamentally does the same you did with old magic 10 winters ago. Our crystal balls and wands have gotten more capable but to the point where the average spellcaster won't even get to make full use of them. Good thing there are independent wizards around who craft old magic style spells to this day so you can still get some use out of your old equipment. I'm using Arch Mage on an ancient ThinkOrb btw.
There's really a archmage distro. And there i thougt you meant Source Mage.
