Tbh memes like this, and terms like "threadiverse" (not to mention fediverse), probably aren't helping.

I know it's well-meaning but the reality is the best "propaganda" for any of this is worthwhile content originating from our communities and fun/pleasant, welcoming communities. Get that going and people will share stuff from these sites to the corporate enclosures and they'll start seeing the grass really is greener on the other side.

Oh come on! It is funny and OC. What is more to ask

Interesting content and welcoming communities aren't going to attract anyone if they never hear about the platform in the first place, or if everything they hear is that it's terrible: https://old.reddit.com/r/RedditAlternatives/comments/1jjl8g5/i_tried_lemmy_again_after_a_year_long_hiatus_and/

It's a chicken and egg situation. The best way to get people here is to be have good content. But good content relies on a good number of users being here.

Eventually we'll (hopefully) have enough MAUs to be able to naturally attract people, but until then there is a need for proselytization.
