Just digging into this stuff just a hair doesn't look good at all. Getting facebook-grade advice for something as impactful as bipolar disorder based on a story of a spiritual awakening is sus as hell.

Proceed with skepticism and don't fuck around with serious mental disorders.

My bipolar diagnosis was due to a spiritual awakening, which has no other classification medically. Nobody is suggesting to go off your meds. I think it’s perfectly fine to suggest that bipolar symptoms severity is related to un-processed trauma. This would emphasize the therapy component of treatment as a route to being better, as opposed to drugs which focus on getting the individual back to work.
