Pet Peeves

I come from a family of people taking over one another. My father came from a family of people who talk over each other. I can't say one way or another if it's a good thing or a bad thing. Generally, and when others aren't used to it, I'd say it's rude. But when others are prepared for it, engage in it themselves, and are at least somewhat respectful toward one another, I think it can be a way of agreeing/adding/moving/steering the conversation along. It can improve it, possibly. It can still be a little rude, but I've found that it is at least a little more complex than it's always rude to interrupt.

Some people talk slow, keep talking and don't give breaks, and/or generate many thoughts without allowing anyone to jump in. At that point I think people just like to hear themselves speak and want no dissension.
