As a starting point, the burning of fossil fuels, and to a lesser extent deforestation and release of methane are responsible for the warming in recent decades: Graph of temperature as observed with significant warming, and simulated without added greenhouse gases and other anthropogentic changes, which shows no significant warming

Yes, this means a ton of carbon ends up in the atmosphere instead of in the trees. The right move would be thinning and prescribed burns, but this administration isn't going to do that.

I too predicate my responses on baseless assumptions about others. I'd explain how your comment doesn't apply in the slightest, but there's no use conversing with those who don't care if their responses are based on reality, simply that they sound "hard truthy". They'll just make more things up!
