Even though AOC is one of the rare American politicians that I like, it's probably not the best idea to make her the presidential candidate. Simply due to the fact that she's a woman. The last few dem losses make it clear that America is still very sexist.

Kamala Harris was one of the most unpopular primary candidates in the 2020 primary, if not the most unpopular; Somehow that didn’t discourage the Democratic Party from anointing her in 2024.

I'm in some circles that would never support her because she sat down with Hasan Piker. I would absolutely support her, but she's pretty polarizing. Same was said of Bernie despite him having one of the most successful grassroots attempts in history. Blows my mind that because they're populists they're immediately discounted by some, even though the positions they support are the ones we desperately need.

Forgive my rant, but just because Trump is a populist with us vs them rhetoric does not make them equal by any fucking stretch of the imagination, and it drives me insane that the friends I'm thinking of are so blinded by the label.

I unfortunately believe it may play some role too for some voters. There are Americans who still embrace their cultures, where there is an emphasis more on men being in charge. Think of some middle eastern cultures for example. And of course, there's the sexists.

Sad reality also is there is a lot of racism still within our country...

Is it because they were women? Are you sure it wasn't because they were borderline Republicans? Both Clinton and Harris are two of the most conservative democratic candidates to run in the last 30 years.

Well keep running women and keep coming up with excuses in why they loose besides admiring America is sexist.

Democrats: Run two of the most establishment, conservative, uninspiring candidates possible from their party; each with a laundry list of controversies and shady practices.

You: They must have lost because they were women!

Maybe if we ran an actual fucking liberal for a change.

Biden actually ran as a liberal and didn't try to court the Republicans. Even though he's got a long-term track record of voting for all the things Republicans love. Not to mention he ran basically a Reagan era White House. All the while being called the most liberal president we've ever had. Meanwhile Harris ran as a super conservative neoliberal. She embraced the war criminal Dick Cheney and refused to go on record as opposing the war on Gaza. Clinton steamrolled the entire Democratic party to take to nomination by force and then walked around pretending to be nice all the while spitting out conservative talking points.

The entire Democratic party is a fucking joke. And until progressives decide to shed the Democratic party and run as progressive independents instead we're going to continue to have this shit show.

Simply due to the fact that she’s a woman. The last few dem losses make it clear that America is still very sexist.

Democrats really are willing to shut out all women as soon as a progressive woman is suggested.
